Mr. Brown

Rule of thumb when matching leather: Match your shoes to your belt and your belt to your watches.

If you're rocking black lace ups match it with a black leather belt and a simple classic watch with a black leather band. Same goes for brown.

I'm just currently into rocking these accessories with casual wear: slim black jeans, fitted shirt and a black leather jacket. I like the simple look and the minimal colour palette. Been wearing it for summer, but since there hasn't been much of a summer in Sydney, meh.

Slim watches with leather bands are great whilst suiting up. But depending on the watch face design, some are more attuned for casual wear. Bracelet watches are generally more for a sports casual look, but there has been a rise of rockin bracelet watches with suits. Do note however that a bulky bracelet can ruin the slim, sleek look of a suit.

Loafers also generally look yuck with socks on especially white ones. Respect your grandfather but don't be a dag. Leather soles tend to be more breathable so if you're going sockless opt for those instead.

Belts come down to the details. Whether you want a matte look or a supple leather feel, it all depends on what you're rocking it for. Simple buckles are great for classic formal occasions whilst louder buckles are great for casual wear or if you intend to snap necks.

Skagen: Originating from Denmark, they're known for their minimalist designs. Their watches are recognisable by their extremely slim watches (ideal for guys with tiny wrists) and their mesh bands. You know what they say about guys with tiny wrists...they have Skagen watches. I really just wanted a slim watch with a brown leather band for cheap. Luckily I snapped these online for 60% off.

Aquila: Originating from Melbourne in 1958 from manufacturing children's shoes, 50 years on they produce decent quality men's shoes. They have stores in Westfields. Expect to pay roughly $160+ for shoes. If you're prepared to pay quadruple just rock a Gucci loafer instead. I wasn't prepared. :( These particular ones are soft leather tasseled moccasins with leather soles and stitched detailing named Kato (which also come in Taupe Suede). Close enough.

Oroton: One of our home grown luxury fashion stores since 1936, Oroton is renowned for their women's handbags and leather goods. They do however have a decent range catered for men as well. I was after a slim belt that was reversible with a simple brushed steel buckle. I opted for these at DJ's for $99 as opposed to a Country Road one.
